About the Professor

Professor Sébastien Crouzet is currently professor of Urology at the university hospital of Lyon Edouard Herriot Hospital. He is a graduate from the university of Lyon, did his residency in the University hospital of Lille and a clinical fellowship at the University Hospital of Lyon.

In 2007 – 2009, he did a research Fellowship at the Cleveland Clinic, Glickman Urological and Kidney Institute. He is also a researcher in the INSERM unit 1032 Therapeutic Applications of Ultrasound (Lyon France). Pr CROUZET ‘s clinical practice and research interest focus on minimally invasive and robot surgery in urology oncology and particularly focal treatment of prostate cancer (HIFU, Cryotherapy).

About the Moderator

This session was moderated by Ralf Seip, Chief Technology Officer at Sonablate Corporation. Ralf Seip received the B.S. degree in electrical engineering and B.S. degree in computer engineering from the Florida Institute of Technology, Melbourne, FL, in 1990. He received the M.S. and Ph.D. degrees in Electrical Engineering: Systems from the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor, MI, in 1992 and 1996. He was a research scientist at Robert Bosch Corp. from 1996 to 1999, the Director of R&D at Focus Surgery, Inc. from 1999 to 2007, and the Director of Ventures at Philips Research until 2016. He is now the Chief Technology Officer at Sonablate Corp. in Charlotte, NC, where he is responsible for defining and executing the long-range direction of the Company’s technology function, specifically focused on bringing to market new therapeutic ultrasound offerings to the Company's clients and customers. He has been making contributions to the field of therapeutic ultrasound for more than 25 years, spanning the entire product development cycle, from fundamental research to clinical product introduction. Dr. Seip is a senior member of IEEE and a member of the IEEE Ultrasonics Technical Program Committee.
