Our Committees
Various committees exist within ISTU to ensure that the goals of the society are met and are representative of the needs of the membership. Each of these committees report to the Board, which has the sole responsibility to execute financial and programmatic actions. ISTU members are encouraged to offer suggestions to the committee chairs for actions involving the various committees.
We're always looking for existing members that may wish to be more involved with ISTU, and want to serve on our committees working with our board members to help guide key initiatives. Also, please let us know if you are interested in open positions that may be available on our Board of Directors in the next term.

Annual Awards Committee
The responsibility of this committee is to nominate and review candidates for consideration for our Annual Awards. Currently, this committee works on both the William and Francis Fry Honorary Fellowship for Contributions to Therapeutic Ultrasound, as well as the Frederic Lizzi Early Career Award.

Clinical Membership Committee
The responsibility of this committee is to grow the clinical membership of the society and address the specific needs of our clinical members.

Communications and Technology Committee
The responsibility of this committee is to lead and manage the internal technology systems and address the technical requirements that the society needs, as well as lead the public facing communications and development of the www.istu.org website and social media sites.

Education Committee
The responsibility of this committee is to nominate speakers and plan sessions for the ongoing ISTU On-Air Webinar Series.

Elections Committee
The responsibility of this committee is to nominate candidates for open positions of President, and Members of the Board of Directors.

Future Meetings Committee
The responsibility of this committee is to select sites for future meetings as well as to assist the local committee with the organization of the annual symposium.

Membership Committee
The responsibility of this committee is to grow the overall membership of the society and to identify how the society can provide benefits to its membership.

Scientific Committee
The responsibility of this committee is to maintain brand consistency year over year, and work with the Local Organizing Committee to provide oversight into the development of the Scientific Program for the Annual Symposium.

Industry Partners & Sponsorships Committee
The responsibility of this committee is to help identify and grow new sponsorships and unique partner opportunities for the Annual Symposium, ISTU On-Air Webinar Series, and the ISTU organization as a whole. This committee will also provide oversight and counsel for Annual Symposium contracts with Local Organizers.

Student Membership and Awards Committee
The responsibility of this committee is to deepen engagement with our student members in the community by helping new students to attend the annual meeting and promoting student involvement through unique opportunities during the meeting. This committee is responsible for the nominations and leadership of our annual Nadine Barrie Smith Student Award, as well as all other student awards. This committee oversees, and provides mentorship and leadership for the ISTU Student Board.
